Dear Readers,

I’ve just had the opportunity to see the finished film of The Hunger Games. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. The film opens up the world beyond Katniss’ point of view, allowing the audience access to the happenings of places like the Hunger Games control room and President Snow’s rose garden, thereby adding a new dimension to the story.

Director Gary Ross has created an adaptation that is faithful in both narrative and theme, but he’s also brought a rich and powerful vision of Panem, its brutality and excesses, to the film as well. His world building’s fantastic, whether it be the Seam or the Capitol. It’s amazing to see things that are suggested in the book fully developed and so brilliantly realized through the artistry of the designers.

And, my God, the actors. The cast, led by the extraordinary Jennifer Lawrence, is absolutely wonderful across the board. It’s such a pleasure to see how they’ve embodied the characters and brought them to life.

So I’d like to sincerely thank all the many people who devoted their time and talents to the film, especially producers Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, and the excellent teams at Color Force, Larger Than Life, and Lionsgate.

I hope you enjoy the film!

Suzanne Collins

I don’t know if you guys have seen this but I had to post it. I need a tissue. This made me cry.

CLICK THE LINK. It reveals ALL they symbolism behind names in the trilogy. It is absolutely incredible. Suzanne Collins thought REALLY long and hard on what to name our beloved characters. So commendable. READ IT NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY YOU CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO.

" “The Hunger Games” doesn’t open until March 23, but Ross already has begun working with Collins and screenwriter Simon Beaufoy (“Slumdog Millionaire”) on the sequel based on Collins’ second novel in the series, “Catching Fire.” He seems simply thrilled to remain in the arena for the foreseeable future. THIS IS SO EXCITING! I am SO SO SO SOOOOO glad SUZANNE COLLINS IS BACK ON BOARD ALONG WITH THE GLORIOUS GARY ROSS AGAIN- oh and don’t forget SIMON BEAUFOY. WOW! He is a legendary screenwriter. This is TOO amazing!!!! Catchign Fire screenwriting was always rumored as to if it was happening, and who was writing it until now! We didn’t even know if Simon Beaufoy was actually going to do it, or if Gary Ross would be back, and if Suzanne Collins would even be involved again- but by the looks of this article that means IT’S TRUE!

See this guy?

That is GARY freaking ROSS.

We are so lucky to have him. I decided to post this because it got a lot of notes in the ask and some people may want to reblog it.

I seriously appreciate his love and dedication to this movie. Where would this film be without him?

THAT MAN IS ONE OF THE MAIN SOLE REASONS THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE SO GOOD.

- without him we would have had the sucky script by Billy Ray that changed the entire story

- he wanted Suzanne Collins on set everyday

- he re-wrote the script for us WITH SUZANNE COLLINS so it could be true to the book

- he casted this movie better than anyone else ever could

- his passion for this movie is so amazing

- he has told us he wants to give the fas the same experience they had reading the book while watching the movie.

Now idk about you guys but that sound like a pretty damn good director. he cares about US and the BOOK. He wants to keep Suzanne Collins’ vision That is hard to find these days. Most directors just would pick up directing a franchise for the money. He could of easily just took the story and ran with it how he wanted, but no. He wants it to be like the books. THANKS GARY ROSS!

Just saying. I’m almost done with Hunger Games and I seriously think she just got lucky with the story cause in terms of being a writer, she’s probably worse than Stephenie Meyer.

Wow…that’s a bit harsh. Stephenie Meyer? Really? :/

I don’t…

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH

YOU ARE NOT WORTHY TO READ THIS BOOK IF YOU THINK THAT.
